Decatur House

Decatur House is a landmark historic mansion on Lafayette Square, steps from the White House. Built in 1818, it is one of the oldest surviving rowhouses in Washington, DC, and is operated by the White House Historical Association as a premier venue for significant events.

By Metro

The closest Metro stations are Farragut West (Blue/Orange/Silver lines) and Farragut North (Red line), each approximately a two-minute walk from Decatur House. Metro is strongly recommended.

By Car / Rideshare

Rideshare (Uber, Lyft) is the most convenient option. Street parking near Lafayette Square is extremely limited. The nearest garages are located on 17th Street NW and I Street NW. Please allow extra time for security screening near the White House complex.

Due to Decatur House's location on Lafayette Square, all guests should expect standard security screening upon entry. Please bring a valid government-issued photo ID.
